Gaurika Singh, youngest athlete on RIO 2016 is going to play her first heat round, today on 9:47 Nepali time. Along with Gaurika, Rita Zeqiri of Kosovo and Evelina Afoa of Samoa is going to compete on same event. Gaurika who has been on headline by becoming youngest athlete, her first test is going to be tough for her. Nepalese supporters has big eyes on Gaurika in the olympic, hoping for some magical performance and breaking duck of not winning medals on Olympic.
First event of womens 100 m backstroke is going to take place in Olympic Aquatics Stadium, Gaurika is going to start on lane 4. Nepalese fans are excited to see her performance as well as Gaurika herself is.

2016 Olympic is coming near. All the participant around the world are ready for their glory, so do Nepali athletes. Nepal who has been continuously participating in Olympic since 1964 (except 1968) ,and are yet to win a medal, will be eyeing for a medal this year on Rio. Nepal is participating in 5 events in Olympic , including Swimming, Archery, Judo, Athletics, Taekwondo.
In Archery Nepal's athlete Jit Bahadur Moktan is competing in men's individual.
Hari Rimal will be participating on 5000 m men's Track and Road event. Also Saraswati Bhattrai will be participating in 1500 m Track and road event in Athletics for Nepal.
Coming towards Judo Nepali female athlete Phupu Lhamu Khatri will be participating on women's 63 kg event. Phupu who won gold on SAG earlier this year would be hoping to break the duck on medal tally of Nepal on Olympic. Phupu who is training on Hungary, Nepal has big expectation for her.
Nepali participant 13 years old Gaurika Singh is the youngest athlete participating on Rio Olympic 2016. She will be participating in women's 100 m backstroke in swimming category. Gaurika is the biggest hope for Nepal for medal in Olympic. She is training in London and is a rare product on Nepal's swimming history. She won 4 medals including 3 bronze and 1 silver in SAG earlier this year. Nepali fans have big expectation on her as she holds 31 national record of Nepal.
Along with Gaurika, Sirish Gurung is also participating on Swimming event. Sirish will be participating on men's 100 m freestyle.
In Taekwondo Nepali female athlete Nisha Rawal is going to participate in women's +67 category.
